About the Role

The role of the Supply Planner is to develop and maintain a rolling 12–18-month supply plan inclusive of inventory, production, and cultivation plans for both internally produced and externally sourced products for assigned categories. The Supply Planner will partner closely with schedulers and operations teams to ensure the release of optimal supply plans that maximize achievement of unconstrained demand.

As a key contributor to the IBP process the supply planner will support the supply planning manager with the delivery of the supply review. The Supply Planner will also be responsible for data analytics and reporting related to supply planning metrics and supporting the execution of Sundial’s end-to-end supply planning process.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Generate the demand-driven rolling 16 week supply plan (weekly) and the demand-driven rolling 18 month unconstrained and constrained supply plans (monthly) as a part of the supply review process for assigned categories
  • Update and maintain data on key supply inputs to enable the end-to-end supply plan (i.e. inventory, work orders, cultivation plans and finished good production plans for both internal and external sources of supply)
  • Proactive identification and resolution or escalation of key supply risks to both constrained and unconstrained demand through the IBP (integrated business planning) process
  • Partner with the cultivation, processing, operations, and scheduling team to identify most optimal capacity configurations and support supply planning manager with scenarios to address supply constraints
  • Support the Supply Planning Manager with the generation of routine reports on adherence to monthly graded cultivation plans, adherence to weekly production plans, and adherence to inventory policy/ inventory coverage
  • Determine root causes of adherence gaps to monthly graded cultivation plans, weekly production plans, and inventory policy; and implement action plans to drive improvement
  • Perform weekly production plan hand-offs or monthly cultivation plan hand-offs to the scheduling team and other relevant stakeholders (i.e. cultivation, processing, external suppliers, etc.) for assigned categories
  • Lead the management of the slow moving and obsolete inventory process for assigned categories
  • Support supply planning manager with adhoc reporting and projects as required
  • Participate in the annual operating plan supply response and review

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or other relevant fields
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in supply planning/ production planning roles
  • Advanced MS Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Supply planning experience in the cannabis, agri-food, and/ or CPG industries an asset
  • Experience using relational databases, SQL and BI tools (Alteryx, Power BI) an asset
  • Excellent analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
  • Influencing and negotiation skills
  • Comfortable in a highly ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to multitask and balance competing time-sensitive priorities

Targeted Compensation - $70,000 - $80,000
