We are looking for a friendly, customer service driven individual to join our Team as the General Manager of Wine and Beyond Kelowna. Working with the Operations and Department Managers, the General Manager will assist in the maximizing of the store's budgets and sales goals, oversee and assist in all aspects of the business, including daily operations, administrative functions, sales, finances, recruitment, training and delegating as needed. Additionally, provide leadership and direction of a multimillion-dollar business unit for operational excellence and achievement of financial and regulatory standards.
Role Responsibilities:

Lead, coach, and mentor team members; build capability through structured training and ongoing feedback
Set clear goals and priorities; delegate effectively and hold the team accountable for results
Drive succession planning and support career development across all roles
Partner with leadership to recruit, hire, and onboard talent aligned to business needs
Champion a customer-first culture focused on delivering exceptional service and driving sales
Lead by example in product knowledge, upselling, and cross-selling strategies
Leverage local market insights and customer feedback to enhance the in-store experience
Oversee execution of promotions, product launches, and merchandising initiatives
Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally
Own store performance against sales, labour, and profitability targets
Analyze sales, KPIs, and P&L to identify trends, opportunities, and risks
Optimize scheduling, inventory, and expenses to meet financial objectives
Monitor and ensure accuracy of financial transactions and documentation
Oversee day-to-day store operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and brand standards
Ensure excellence in merchandising, inventory management, and store presentation
Manage scheduling, payroll approvals, and operational planning
Lead execution of inventory counts, ordering, and stock management processes
Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
Communicate priorities clearly through regular team meetings, huddles, and coaching sessions
Partner with Area Manager and cross-functional teams to align on business goals
Cascade key information to the team to ensure alignment and execution
Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
Address employee relations matters professionally; implement corrective actions as needed
Maintain a safe and secure environment for employees and customers
Qualifications Work Experience
Minimum, two-years' experience in a management position.
Previous sales and/or operations experience is considered an asset.
Minimum, 3-year experience in a big box environment.
Proven track record of successfully managing a large team.
Education
Post-secondary education/degree (preferred, not required).
Training in wine/beer/spirits (preferred, not required).
Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
ProServe/Serving it right Certification.
First-Aid Certification considered an asset.
