The Processing Machine Operator will be responsible to prepare and process our post-harvest product through the proper channels. A great machine operator is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. A production operator must adhere to safety guidelines and ensure that final products meet high-quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure safe work conditions and practices within the greenhouse and support building by supporting adherence to company Safety, Health, and Environmental policies.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for Good Production Practices (GPP) and GMP.
- Maintaining the integrity of all assets and operating equipment to ensure on-going safe, reliable operations.
- Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle.
- Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed).
- Test operation of machines periodically.
- Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws.
- Maintain a safe and clean workspace.
- Experience in a warehouse or industrial manufacturing.
- Communicate any issues with management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years prior experience as a Processing Machine Operator or a similar position
- Previous ACMPR experience is considered an asset..
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices.
- Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.).
- Understanding of production procedures.
- Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear).
- Teamwork and communication skills.
- Must have accountability, proactive behavior and strong attention to detail.
Working conditions
- May be required to work on weekends and during holidays, from time to time
- This is a physically demanding position which will require the ability to lift/move heavy objects (up to 50lbs), standing/crouching/bending for long periods of time throughout each shift
At BZAM, we provide a competitive salary range that is based on your experience and expertise. The hourly range for this position is $21-$23 per hour.
