The Opportunity:
Under limited supervision this position is responsible for all facets of SNDL Atholville building site, associated operations and activities including: first response to mechanical, architectural, plumbing and other building system related problems during and after normal working hours. The Facilities Technician will perform a variety of skilled duties in one or more building trades, such as painting, carpentry, minor plumbing, cleaning of varies AC units or other recognized crafts for the purpose of repairing the building/facility. Also the cleaning and changing filters of HVAC units , along with maintenance of varies equipment within the facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Be able to use tools and work in the assembly and minor repairs of footing and wall formwork, floor framing, partitions, roofs, stairs, interior and exterior cladding, doors and windows, in accordance with the National Building Code and the standards that apply to the province of New Brunswick.
· Climb to heights and conduct work with proper safety restraints.
· Operate construction equipment (Forklift, Scissor lift, Boom lift, Pallet Stacker).
· Perform setup and cleaning task at job site
· Provide labour support as needed for specialty crews
· Perform maintenance of equipment and vehicles
· Perform duties inside and outside the facility.
· Lawn care, snow removal and landscaping.
Qualifications:
· Grade Twelve or equivalent required
· Basic and general knowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems, plus knowledge of building maintenance required.
· 1 to 5 years experience in construction industry, specifically commercial and multi-residential
· Clean Drivers abstract
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift and stack objects up to 55 pounds occasionally and frequently exert 10 to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, push and pull or otherwise move objects.
· Work involves frequent periods of standing and walking, which may include climbing ladders and staircases.
· Work involves stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning and reaching, bending at the waist. Indoor/outdoor environment with exposure to weather extremes.
