The Cultivation Technician supports day-to-day cultivation operations at Texas Original’s production facility. This role is responsible for executing assigned cultivation tasks across all plant life-cycle stages, including propagation, vegetative growth, flowering, and harvesting. The Cultivation Technician follows established SOPs, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements to ensure healthy plant development, accurate recordkeeping, and a clean, compliant cultivation environment. This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Essential Functions: - Perform daily cultivation activities including seeding/cloning, propagation, transplanting, irrigation, fertigation, canopy management, pruning, defoliation, trellising, IPM support, and harvest tasks in accordance with SOPs and supervisor direction.
- Assist with harvest and post-harvest activities including plant take-down, bucking, grinding, drying, curing, and material transfers.
- Monitor plant health and report signs of pests, disease, nutrient deficiencies, or environmental stress to supervisors.
- Support IPM programs through scouting, sanitation, and approved treatment applications as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of cultivation rooms, greenhouses, equipment, tools, and work areas.
- Clean and sanitize cultivation equipment, rooms, and surfaces according to established sanitation schedules.
- Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, fire safety procedures, and regulatory guidelines at all times.
- Accurately complete required cultivation documentation including plant counts, environmental logs, batch records, and other required records.
- Work collaboratively with the cultivation team to meet daily and weekly production goals.
Additional Responsibilities: - May need to work flexible schedules as crop planning dictates including weekends or holidays.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives as needed.
- Assist with basic equipment setup, teardown, and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Support R&D trials or pilot programs under supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support cultivation, greenhouse, or facility operations.
What You’ll Need to Succeed: - Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Plant Science, Horticulture, or related field or relevant experience.
- 1–2 years of hands-on experience in commercial cannabis cultivation, propagation, greenhouse, or related agricultural setting.
- Ability to follow SOPs, work instructions, and verbal directions.
- Ability to work independently throughout the day in accordance with instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and cleanliness.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid state-issued TCUP badge.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Familiarity with plant tracking software and standard cultivation tools and equipment a plus.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in variable environmental conditions (heat, humidity, PPE).
