We are looking for a dynamic and commercially savvy Senior Marketing Manager to lead our go-to-market strategies with a strong focus on trade execution and retail excellence. This role is critical in bridging brand strategy with in-market execution, ensuring our products win at the shelf and deliver exceptional consumer experiences across all retail channels.
SENIOR MARKETING MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES
Trade Marketing & Retail Execution
- Develop and execute trade marketing strategies that drive in-store visibility, conversion, and share growth.
- Lead the planning and implementation of retail programs, promotions, and point-of-sale (POS) materials.
- Collaborate with sales teams and key retail partners to ensure flawless execution of brand initiatives in-store.
- Monitor and optimize trade spend to maximize ROI and retail impact.
- Analyze retail performance data and shopper insights to inform future strategies.
Integrated Marketing Planning
- Translate brand strategies into actionable marketing plans tailored to retail environments.
- Align cross-functional teams (sales, product, supply chain) to ensure cohesive execution.
- Manage product launches and seasonal campaigns across retail channels.
- Ensure compliance with Health Canada regulations and provincial distribution rules in all sales and marketing activities.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and mentor a team of trade marketing specialists or coordinators.
- Serve as the key liaison between brand marketing and sales teams.
- Partner with external agencies and vendors to deliver high-impact retail activations.
Performance & Insights
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) including distribution, shelf presence, promotional effectiveness, and shopper engagement.
- Leverage data and insights to continuously improve trade marketing strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelorโs degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in marketing, with at least 3 years in trade marketing or retail execution.
- Knowledge of the cannabis sector (major companies, stakeholders, business models, regulatory environment, etc.) is a strong asset.
- Proven success in driving brand performance in retail environments (grocery, mass, specialty, or convenience).
- Strong analytical skills and experience with retail data platforms (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, POS systems).
- Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
