About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, HR Operations, the Senior Human Resources Business Partner will provide exceptional client support to the business. As a trusted professional, this role is the front facing business partner utilizing strong business acumen to support his/her client groups. This position will be fully integrated within the business areas and will be committed to understanding the needs of their clients and the business as a whole. The ideal candidate has a proven reputation for standing out as a cultural role model for others and has had success in influencing the cultural behavior of others.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with Recruitment to ensure the smooth delivery of all recruitment processes. This includes collaborating with managers to review job scope and determining equitable compensation.
- Manage and maintain the company’s workforce plan
- Influence and contribute to policy development and implementation, employee communication strategies and employee development programs
- Interact with leaders within the company and establish credibility and build effective working relationships that open coaching channels
- Provide coaching and resources to employees and managers with respect to career development, compensation, recruiting, performance management and employee relations
- Utilize data from HR metrics and analytics to identify and assess trends, and proactively diagnose and address areas of need
- Support compensation processes with the business including annual salary review and bonus administration
- Investigate employee relations issues including employee matters and performance issues while maintaining confidentiality, consistency and sensitivity
- Coach, counsel and guide leaders before the implementation of employee disciplinary actions, including facilitating any employee terminations
- Collaborate with departments on the identification of employee training needs and sourcing of training providers or sources
- Identify and action tactics that aim to drive employee engagement company wide
- Assist with development of core employee training programs where required
- Assist with the development of leader mentorship and coaching programs
- Back-up Payroll on benefits and payroll activities as needed
- Complete industry-related human resource surveys
- Other tasks and projects as assigned
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or Organizational Development or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of broad Human Resources generalist experience
- CPHR designation considered an asset
- Strong technical background including a thorough understanding of provincial legislation
- Solid background in employee relations including conducting workplace investigations
- Experience developing and delivering new policies and programs considered an asset
- Solid MS Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills demonstrated by comfort and ease public speaking
- Solid team player who promotes a culture of professionalism, integrity, quality and teamwork
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence the thinking and actions of others
- Ability to operate with very high levels of integrity and confidentiality
- Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
