IN A NUTSHELL…

The Production Technician II (PT II) supports cannabis production across multiple departments, including Extraction, Kitchen, Packaging, and Cultivation. All technicians will cross-train through sub-departments; task assignments must align with training and demonstrated competency. PTIIs are experienced operators who handle machinery, complete critical documentation, assist with quality control, and help drive productivity within their teams. The cannabis industry is constantly evolving, so you must be open to learning and implementing new technologies and methods to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

General Responsibilities Across All Departments

  • Independently operate production equipment upon certification and training.
  • Accurately complete batch records, audit forms, inventory logs, and regulatory documentation.
  • Support production and packaging lines by setting the pace, conducting quality checks, and reporting discrepancies.
  • Cross-train and rotate across various sub-departments while adhering to safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain clean, sanitized, and organized work areas.
  • Collaborate with Leads and Supervisors to execute production schedules and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties might be assigned based on business needs.

 Area-Specific Contributions

Extraction & Solventless

  • Operate extraction equipment in coordination with production planning.
  • Assist in inbound raw material and outbound final product.
  • Support R&D sample collection and flower organization based on production priorities.
  • Troubleshoot and escalate equipment issues during operation.
  • Conduct inventory checks for Cannabis and consumable items

 Kitchen Production

  • Operate kitchen equipment in coordination with production planning while ensuring timely and accurate data recording on production forms.
  • Will be trained and operate all aspects of the kitchen production area including Gelatin production, Softgel encapsulation, Tumble dryers and Theragel inspections.
  • Assist with inventory checks and production paperwork under the direction of the Lead.
  • Support sanitation and end-of-day reconciliation activities.

Packaging (MIP, Flower, Edibles)

  • Operate high-speed packaging equipment and support batch documentation.
  • Assist with Flourish system entries and participate in quality control checks.
  • Drive line performance by setting the pace and resolving minor operational issues.

 Cultivation Support

  • Operate trimming and processing equipment in post-harvest operations.
  • Record and input data in Excel and Flourish systems accurately.
  • Assist in QC tasks, harvest activities, and post-processing workflows.

Essentials Duties

  • Operate assigned production or packaging equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Complete required documentation such as batch records and audit forms.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and tools.
  • Support cross-department needs with flexibility, while only performing trained tasks.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • Age 21 or over
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Government-Issued Photo ID

Preferred

  • Previous experience working in a cannabis production facility, lab, or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience operating production or packaging machinery
  • Proficiency in completing regulatory or production documentation
  • Familiarity with Flourish or similar cannabis tracking systems
  • Ability to multitask, self-direct, and maintain pace under limited supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving in production environments

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to consistently lift to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to be in a constant standing/moving position
  • Ability to perform various physical tasks such as lifting, standing, squatting, and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to wear the required PPE, including but not limited to safety glasses and safety shoes

General environment REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent exposure to temperature (e.g., hot greenhouse environments and cold indoor rooms).
  • Exposure to environmental elements such as dust, fumes, allergens (including cannabis), plant material, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Work in areas with humidity and varying lighting or air conditioning levels.
