About the Role

Reporting to the Director, Functional HR, the HR Service Excellence Administrator is a key operational role within our HR team. You will be the backbone of our HR data integrity — managing the full employee lifecycle in Workday, keeping documentation organized and compliant, and supporting a range of HR initiatives that keep our people processes running smoothly.

This is an ideal role for someone who takes pride in accuracy, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is genuinely energized by finding better ways to do things. If you want to be an integral part of a collaborative HR team in a growing company, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review incoming employee paperwork — new hire packages, employee changes, and termination documents — for accuracy and completeness, following up with leaders and employees on any errors or omissions
  • Enter and maintain employee lifecycle data in Workday with accuracy and within department deadlines
  • Draft HR communications and documents including letters, emails, memos, policies, procedures, process instructions, and information summaries
  • Build and maintain HR materials such as templates, tools, and training resources to improve team efficiency and user experience
  • Participate in peer review of HR team deliverables to confirm accuracy, reduce risk, and support shared learning
  • Manage the general HR email inboxes, responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensure proper storage and safekeeping of employee documentation, adhering to privacy and security requirements
  • Support internal and external audits of employee personnel files and HR data
  • Collaborate with the HR team on HRIS process improvements, needs assessments, and data output requirements
  • Assist with filing, archiving, and other HR administrative needs as requested

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources is an asset; high school diploma required at minimum
  • Candidates working toward their CPHR designation will be considered favourably
  • 1–3 years of HR data entry or HR administration experience
  • Experience with HRIS systems, particularly Workday, is a strong asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Must be able to pass a basic criminal record check

Personal Attributes:

  • Discreet and professional — you understand the sensitivity of HR information and treat it with the highest level of confidentiality and integrity
  • Detail-obsessed — accuracy isn't just a skill for you, it's a standard you hold yourself to
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines without dropping the ball
  • A proactive problem-solver who notices inefficiencies and takes initiative to address them
  • An excellent communicator — clear and professional in writing and in person, with people at all levels
  • Adaptable and positive — you take change in stride and bring a can-do attitude to whatever comes your way
  • A collaborative team player who's equally comfortable working independently
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to doing the job well

What Makes SNDL a Great Place to Grow:

  • Competitive compensation including performance-based bonuses and annual salary reviews.

  • Comprehensive health and dental benefits, including a Healthcare Spending Account.

  • Three weeks of paid vacation with annual rollover.

  • Flexible, hybrid work arrangements to support work-life balance.

  • Recognition and rewards programs that celebrate individual and team achievements.

  • Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP) with mental health, financial, and family support.

  • Employee perks and discounts program, offering savings across fitness, wellness, lifestyle, retail, and everyday services

We are grateful for the interest in this role from all candidates, however, we will be contacting only those that are selected for next steps in the hiring process.
