As a Greenhouse Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our cultivation operations. This position is responsible for maintaining the seamless performance of our advanced automated greenhouse systems, which are essential for optimal plant growth and quality. You will oversee environmental controls—including irrigation schedules, airflow, CO₂ injection, shade curtains, lighting, and temperature settings—while adhering to all BZAM work instructions and SOPs.

This is a hands-on role that combines technical expertise with attention to detail. You’ll work closely with the cultivation team to troubleshoot issues, maintain system integrity, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Mix fertilizers into irrigation tanks according to approved formulas for each plant growth phase.
  • Prepare and apply chemicals by following labels, safety data sheets, and work procedures.
  • Perform and assist with minor repairs on irrigation systems, grow room curtains, and broken emitters.
  • Assist installing irrigation lines and systems as directed.
  • Conduct daily checks in assigned grow rooms for moisture levels, plant health, and system conditions.
  • Report issues with automation systems or plant health to the Greenhouse System Supervisor, Cultivation Manager, and/or Master Grower.
  • Perform irrigation flushes and clean irrigation tanks per work procedures.
  • Monitor and clean irrigation line manifolds and inspect headers.
  • Troubleshoot irrigation systems within scope of role.
  • Maintain compliance with safe work practices, including PPE use and housekeeping standards.
  • Organize, count, and record inventory as directed.
  • Train cultivation team on fertilizer mixing and application procedures; create training materials and SOPs.
  • Schedule irrigation/fertigation events according to production plans.
  • Generate reports from the Priva automated system and forecast water/fertilizer usage.
  • Coordinate fertilizer orders with finance and third-party vendors.
  • Perform Night Watch duties as scheduled.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Experience or technical education in greenhouse automation and irrigation systems (cannabis industry preferred).
  • The ability to operate equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts would be an asset.
  • Strong computer skills, especially with PRIVA system software and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • High degree of resourcefulness, observation, and adaptability.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working under GMP regulations.
  • Strong work ethics and positive team attitude.

Working Conditions

  • Greenhouse and production environment with continuous exposure to heat, light, loud noises, hazardous products and humidity.
  • Occasional weekend and holiday work may be required.
  • Weekly Night Watch procedures which require reacting to Greenhouse systems alarms.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, bending, and walking; repetitive physical tasks.
  • Strong manual dexterity and comfort performing hands-on tasks and repairs.
  • Ability to concentrate on detailed tasks and sit at a computer for record-keeping and report generation.

At BZAM, we provide a competitive salary range that is based on your experience and expertise. The hourly range for this position is $25-$27 per hour.
