Overview:
The Facilities Technician plays a key role in keeping our cannabis manufacturing facility running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, and supporting day-to-day facility operations. From electrical systems and HVAC to plumbing, production equipment, and building upkeep, the Facilities Technician ensures our facility stays compliant, functional, and optimized for production.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility systems including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and production equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment or building issues to minimize downtime and ensure safe operations.
- Support facility inspections and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Monitor and maintain building systems to ensure compliance with state, local, and cannabis industry regulations.
- Assist with installation, calibration, and upkeep of production and processing equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Respond promptly to urgent repair requests or equipment failures.
- Collaborate with lab and production teams to ensure facilities meet operational needs.
- Help maintain facility cleanliness, organization, and security.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade certification preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or a related role (manufacturing environment preferred).
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of facility and equipment issues.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and documentation.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety practices; knowledge of OSHA standards a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to respond to after-hours emergencies when needed.
- Experience in the cannabis industry or regulated manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain/maintain all state-required cannabis badging, which includes a pre-employment background check.
- Must possess a valid driverβs license or state ID card.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking for long durations.
- Must have the ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Allergen warnings - Potential exposure to dust, pollen, and plant pathogens.
- May require daily use of provided PPE.
Maryland Pay Range
$22—$22 USD
