The Role 

LeafLink is looking for a detail-oriented Cash Operations Processor to join our Cash Operations team. This role is central to the safe, accurate, and compliant handling of cash within the cannabis industry, an environment where precision, discretion, and strong relationship management are essential. The ideal candidate will coordinate cash pickup logistics, reconcile transactions, serve as a direct point of contact for couriers and customers, and support the rollout and ongoing management of smart safe technology. This person will also periodically support banking back office functions, including transaction posting, making this a great fit for someone who enjoys variety and wants to build a broad foundation in cash management and banking operations.

This position offers exposure to both cash logistics operations and banking back office functions, giving you the opportunity to build cross-functional experience in a fast-growing segment of the cannabis industry. You'll work closely with customers, courier partners, and internal banking teams, playing a hands-on role in modernizing cash management through smart safe technology.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate cash pickups with armored courier services, ensuring timely and accurate service across all assigned accounts and locations.
  • Balance and reconcile daily cash transactions, identifying and resolving discrepancies quickly and accurately.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers regarding pickup schedules, cash handling procedures, and general account questions, delivering clear and professional communication at every touchpoint.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with courier partners, addressing service issues, delays, or exceptions as they arise.
  • Support the implementation, onboarding, and ongoing operation of smart safe technology for customers, including training, troubleshooting, and coordinating installation logistics.
  • Monitor smart safe reporting and reconciliation to ensure cash deposits align with expected totals and flag variances for follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate, organized records of cash transactions, pickups, and reconciliations in accordance with internal controls and compliance standards.
  • Assist the banking back office team on an as-needed basis with transaction posting, ensuring entries are accurate and completed within established timeframes.
  • Identify and escalate irregularities, potential compliance concerns, or process inefficiencies to leadership.
  • Support process improvement initiatives aimed at streamlining cash operations workflows.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all applicable cannabis banking regulations, internal policies, and security protocols.

Qualifications

Required

  • 1-3 years of experience in cash handling, cash operations, banking operations, or a related field; experience in the cannabis industry is a plus.
  • Strong reconciliation and numerical accuracy skills, with comfort working across high transaction volumes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work directly and professionally with customers and courier partners.
  • Experience or familiarity with smart safe systems, cash management technology, or similar equipment is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple schedules, accounts, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets; experience with banking or transaction posting systems is a plus.
  • High level of integrity and discretion, given the sensitive nature of cash operations in the cannabis industry.
  • Ability to pass required background checks in accordance with state cannabis banking and compliance regulations.

Base salary range
$55,000$95,000 USD
