About the Role
DACUT is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to oversee day-to-day accounting operations with a strong emphasis on Accounts Payable management, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. This role works closely with executive leadership to ensure accurate financial data, disciplined expense control, and compliance across our corporate and cannabis operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the Accounts Payable function, including invoice review, coding, approvals, vendor payments, and reconciliation

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of AP while maintaining strong internal controls

  • Manage the general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, state regulations, and internal accounting policies

  • Support tax planning, preparation, and filings, including cannabis-specific considerations (e.g., IRC 280E)

  • Partner with leadership to provide financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting

  • Monitor cash flow, expense tracking, and cost controls

  • Maintain organized documentation and support internal and external audits

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and visibility, particularly within AP workflows

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in regulated industries

  • Hands-on experience managing high-volume Accounts Payable

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards

  • Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets and accounting software

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Ability to clearly communicate financial information to leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the cannabis industry

  • Knowledge of IRC 280E and cannabis tax structures

  • Experience with multi-entity or multi-site operations

  • Public accounting or corporate finance background
