Job Description

The Production Assistant is responsible for supporting the manufacturing of cannabis-infused edibles and beverages and assembling and packaging products for distribution. This person will set up processes and equipment, cook edibles, assemble and package finished goods, and clean equipment and facilities across multiple product lines. Product lines include beverage production and canning, edible production, cartridge filling and capping, and preroll production.

An essential responsibility of this position is the ability and willingness to operate a 16–26-foot non-CDL box truck for product deliveries between Tucson and Phoenix. Delivery assignments will be scheduled as needed, and employees must be comfortable driving larger commercial vehicles, operating pallet jacks, and safely loading and unloading heavy, palletized products. Driving shifts are not guaranteed, and employees will perform regular production duties when not assigned to deliveries.

A successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, be able to follow direction well, and enjoy repetitive work. Food service, food manufacturing, warehouse, delivery, or cannabis production experience may be beneficial but is not required. Responsibilities

• Assist with physical preparation and packaging of various cannabis-infused products (beverages, gummies, chocolates, prerolls, vape cartridges, etc.)
• Record all production and packaging activity to ensure all tasks are accounted for, including batch processing, cooking time, temperatures, waste, etc.
• Operate, clean, and maintain all equipment and kitchen areas
• Weigh, assemble, package, seal, and label products
• Dishwash, clean, and sanitize all spaces
• Organize all supplies and storage areas
• Complete orders with consistency and quality
• Maintain reasonable speed and efficiency in all work tasks and work with a sense of urgency
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, adhering to food safety guidelines and state and company-specific regulations
• Drive a 16–26-foot non-CDL delivery truck between Tucson and Phoenix, as assigned
• Safely load, unload, secure, and transport palletized products, including heavy pallets of canned beverages, using manual and/or electric pallet jacks and appropriate loading equipment
• Complete delivery documentation, verify product quantities, and coordinate with receiving personnel at delivery locations
• Maintain safe driving practices and follow all company transportation procedures and applicable regulations

Qualifications

General Qualifications:

• Previous kitchen, food, or manufacturing facility experience preferred, but not required
• Previous cannabis facility experience preferred, but not required
• Previous box truck, commercial delivery, warehouse, or pallet jack experience preferred
• Knowledge of quality standards and health and safety regulations
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including occasional extended shifts for deliveries to Phoenix
• Must be over 21 and pass a criminal background check
• Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license and have a driving record acceptable to the company's vehicle insurer
• Must be willing and able to operate a 16–26-foot non-CDL delivery truck and make scheduled deliveries between Tucson and Phoenix
• Must be willing and able to safely operate pallet jacks and move heavily loaded pallets with appropriate equipment

Required Physical Attributes:

• Must be able to complete repetitive motions that may include wrists, hands, or fingers
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
• Must be okay with potential exposure to peanuts, dairy, food allergens, dust, pollen, and plant pathogens
• Must be able to withstand loud noises, including but not limited to air compressors, packaging equipment, and alarms
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation
• Must be physically capable of safely maneuvering heavily loaded pallets using appropriate material-handling equipment
• Must be able to perform the physical requirements of loading, unloading, and delivering products

Compensation and Delivery Assignments

The Production Assistant position pays $17.00 per hour, with an additional $5.00 per hour premium for time spent performing assigned delivery duties, for a total of $22.00 per hour during those assignments.

All candidates must be willing and qualified to drive as a condition of employment. Delivery assignments are scheduled according to operational needs and are not guaranteed. Employees will perform standard production responsibilities at their regular hourly rate when not assigned to deliveries.
