PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
Serve as Part-Time Budtender at the City’s Cannabis Dispensary. Responsible for the sale of products, customer identification, stocking of products and customer service.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
This is not an attempt to list all work operations of this job position. Duties generally include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Greet customers, verify identification, and create a warm welcoming experience.
2. Educate customers on cannabis products, effects, and usage.
3. Assist customers with product selections and purchases, based on their needs and preferences.
4. Accurately operate the POS system and handle sales transactions with accurate cash handling.
5. Upsell products and promote specials or new arrivals.
6. Operate computerized inventory control system.
7. Support restocking and labeling of products and inventory.
8. Perform opening and closing procedures.
9. Control shoplifting and employee theft.
POSITION EXPECTATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
1. Follow all applicable City and State laws and regulations and store policies, relating to Cannabis sales.
2. Ensure proper ID checks and transaction limits.
3. Maintain and increase job/product knowledge through education, attendance at meetings, seminars and trade shows.
4. Stay up to date on current products, strains, terpenes, cannabinoids and industry trends.
5. Provides accurate information on strains, products, consumption methods, and effects.
6. Maintain strict confidentiality and customer privacy.
7. Maintain store cleanliness, customer convenience and proper traffic flow, assuring proper display placement and shelf sets.
8. Must be able to work scheduled hours, weekends to include Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and call-ins as required. Store hours are generally Monday through Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 pm. and Sundays 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Hours worked will be varied and will be determined by job requirements and responsibilities.
9. Must be comfortable working in a retail environment with fluctuating customer volume.
10. Creates a favorable image of the City in contacts with the Public, Elected Officials and other Organizations.
11. Must exercise initiative, discretion and independent use of judgment over matters of low significance.
12. Keeps Cannabis Dispensary Manager informed of any development, which he/she/they will need to know to function effectively.
13. Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as apparent and/or as assigned by the Cannabis Dispensary Manager.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE PREREQUISITE(S):
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Previous employment experience in retail or customer service.
3. Ability to obtain a valid cannabis worker permit or badge (if required by State).
