Purpose/Summary
SELECTION PROCESS

Preliminary screening will be made on the basis of completed application packet submitted by candidate. Completed application packet includes: a letter of interest of no more than five pages, addressing in general the items under "Primary Duties" and specifically each item under “Minimum Qualifications”; an online application; resume; and transcripts. All candidates, including current Community College of Denver employees must submit a complete application packet which includes all material listed above.

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Cannabis Business Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree prepares a new generation of business managers and operators within a cannabis enterprise. The program combines a mix of core business, management, and marketing curriculum with applied cannabis-related courses. It provides students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience essential to operate a cannabis business within the legal constraints.
Duties and Responsibilities
Adjunct instructor(s) teach specific lecture and/or laboratory courses as well as oversee internship assignments at internship sites.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
A bachelor’s degree in business, management, accounting, business law, law, economics, finance, or a Bachelor’s degree and professional experience or education in one or more of the program’s instructional areas.
Licensure/Certification:
Must hold, or qualify to obtain a postsecondary CTE credential, including 4,000 paid non-teaching occupational hours within the last 7 years. For information on how to obtain a CTE credential, please visit this site: https://www.cde.state.co.us/cdeprof/licensure_cteapp.
Experience:
- Applicants must have demonstrated professional experience or education in one or more of the Program’s instructional areas including:
Cannabis Fundamentals
Cannabis Business
Endocannabinoid system and pharmacology
Cannabis infused products
Public Health and Cannabis use
Cannabinoid plant botany and cultivation
Software and Systems Requirements for Cannabis Business
Cannabis Business Accounting
Cannabis Retail and Management
- Teaching or training experience in the cannabis field. Teaching experience can include but not limited to teaching in post-secondary and /or vocational/technical education programs or industry training programs, or presentations at conferences and workshops.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people from varied backgrounds and situations, and is sensitive to individual differences.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the curriculum competencies and skills.
