Description

We seek applicants for part-time instructors to teach evening cannabis courses during future semesters through HCC's Career and Technical Education division. Courses offered in this area include Introduction to Cannabis, Cannabis Regulatory Compliance, Cannabis Cultivation, and Cannabis Dispensary Operations. 

General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Prepare appropriate syllabi for courses
  • Develop lectures, discussions, and presentations 
  • Evaluate students’ performance using appropriate methods
  • Maintain instructional materials and equipment

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2000 hours of demonstrated experience in the cannabis cultivation/dispensary field
  • 21 years of age or older  
  • Knowledge of and experience with cannabis cultivation 
  • Evening and/or late afternoon on-campus and remote availability 

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in cannabis cultivation, dispensary operations, or agriculture field 
  • Successful teaching experience
  • Knowledge of and experience with cannabis dispensary operations and legal responsibilities and ethical issues of the cannabis industry

Adjunct faculty shall be compensated per Equated Contact Hours (ECH) of instruction. The current rate of compensation per ECH for new Adjunct Faculty is $1,011.

THIS POSITION IS BASED IN CENTRAL ILLINOIS AND ABILITY TO BE PRESENT ON-CAMPUS/IN-PERSON IS REQUIRED.
